Private practice is half clinical work, half business.
Most clinicians were taught to think of marketing as salesy, and not part of the work. In today's market, you can't build a successful practice without it. Limen gives you one place to learn the business side and a clear plan to follow.
Coaching programs teach you what to do. Limen teaches you and puts the marketing to work.
Sound familiar?
What most independent therapists run into.
No one taught you how to run the business side of a practice
Marketing advice sounds clear until you sit down to actually do it
The marketing everyone tells you to do is an outdated playbook
You can't keep up with practices and apps that pay professional marketers
You're spending money on marketing that never seems to gain traction
You have no real system for knowing what's working in your business
Being a great therapist doesn't automatically fill your practice.
It takes a plan and the right support, and most therapists were never given either.
How we work together
How we work with you.
We give you clear guidance and resources you can act on yourself. You bring the follow-through.

Growth
Know what's working, add payers and referral partners, and adjust the strategy as your practice grows.
Your part: a couple of focused hours a week, every week. That's what builds a full caseload.
Consistency
Small, steady effort adds up.
Most therapists try a little of everything: a directory here, a social post there, an ad that runs for a month. Every time you switch, you start over. Sticking with one approach lets each month build on the last.

Who's behind Limen
Business know-how, shaped by clinical experience.
Limen brings together two decades of business development and the perspective of a psychologist who has built a national group practice, so the guidance you get is practical and grounded in how therapy practices really work.
Vu Tran
Founder, Limen
Vu is a Calgary-based founder with 20+ years in business development, including years working with clinicians and therapy practices in an adjacent field. He started Limen after seeing how little business support independent therapists have to grow their practice, and how many good clinicians stay invisible to the clients who need them.
Dr. Colp knows what it takes to run a psychology practice. As CEO of Hexagon Psychology, he leads a group practice licensed in every Canadian jurisdiction, with clinical, training, and research divisions. He brings more than 15 years of experience in psychological assessment and intervention. He consults, teaches, and speaks widely on tele-assessment, ethical practice, artificial intelligence in psychology, and the business of private practice. He has also provided national and provincial leadership in professional practice and advocacy. As Professional Practice Advisor, he helps ensure the tools clinicians rely on reflect how practice really works.

Questions therapists ask
Before you book.
How do I get more clients without feeling salesy?
Marketing a therapy practice means being clear about who you help and making it easy for the right clients to find and book you. Most therapists find it feels natural once they see it that way.
I don't have much time.
A few focused hours a week is enough. The guides go step by step, and the pooled marketing keeps running while you see clients.
I'm building a practice alongside group work. Is this for me?
Yes. The strategy works at any pace, whether private practice is your full-time work or a caseload you're building on the side.
What about my college's advertising rules?
Our guidance is built around professional advertising standards, such as the limits on client testimonials, and you have the final say over everything published under your name. It isn't legal or regulatory advice: your college always has the final word.
How do I start a private practice in Alberta?
The essentials are registration in good standing with your college, liability insurance, a business setup, practice software, and registration with the payers you plan to bill. The step most people underestimate is a plan for getting found. Your college and an accountant cover the rules, and Limen helps with the clients.
Is Psychology Today worth it for Alberta therapists?
It has a large audience, but anyone can list, so in Calgary or Edmonton you compete with many profiles for the same searches. It works best with a strong profile and a clear niche. Many therapists use it alongside Limen.
How long does it take to build a full caseload?
It depends on your niche, your city, your availability and how consistently you work your strategy. Realistically it takes months, not weeks, and steady effort pays off over time, which is why we focus on doing a few things consistently.
What does the training cover at launch?
Stage 1 is Marketing Yourself 101, a live webinar series with step-by-step resources. It covers making the most of your profile and page, finding your niche, and marketing basics that work. Later stages cover pricing, payers, referrals and tracking your numbers.
